Been working on a MP C4500 that has had electrical issues. Have swapped I/O board, the IPU, the BCU, the laser unit, and the power supply. Where I had been getting nothing but a power on led, I am now getting that plus the start up splash screen with "please wait". What am I missing? Thank you.

The only thing it looks like you haven't replaced is the controller board, that's your next step. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.Comment

Re: MP C4500 with splash screen "please wait" only, no error
How long did you wait with the please wait screen, i have run across some after working on boards where if a connection like from the IPU/Controller/SIU stuff like that when loading please wait will sit there for a while but if you wait like 2-4 mins sometimes if thats the case an SC code will alert due to eventual firmware loading error. Maybe try giving it 2-3 mins and see if it codes out the code would help indicate maybe what to look for. If it never goes away then ya controller might be the next option.Comment

The easy way to tell if its the HDD causing a Ricoh to freeze at the "please wait" screen is to boot up with the HDD unplugged. If the machine now makes it past the please wait screen and displays a HDD error message, its a bad HDD. Many Ricoh machines will even work with limited functions without the HDD plugged in.Comment
