I have one of these machines that work great overall but since we switched to VoIP it's been pretty much hell. We've (local tech) lowered speed to 14.4k and disabled ECM. I'm not sure if v8 is disabled, is there an easy way to check that? It seems to have helped quite a bit compared to stock settings but its still far from reliable. Our providers ATA box does only supports "pass-through" and not T.38 which seems to preferably way of transmitting faxes. As far as I can tell this machine supports T.38 natively but the manual is a bit unclear what purpose all settings actually have. I tried to get some support from Ricoh's but support guy claimed that the function didn't exist at all.
Does anyone have any experience using the builtin T.38 or can recommend an ATA box that works "good"?
