    RICHO AFICO MPC 6000

HEY GUYS. WORKING ON ARICHO AFICO MPC 6000. IT KEEPS JAMMING IN THE FUSER. THE PAPER LOOKS LIKE ONE OF THE WHITE PAPER GUILDS NEAR THE FRONT OF THE FUSER IS CATCHING IT. BUT I CAN ROLL IT THOUGH THE FUSER MANUALLY NO PROBLEM. IT JAMS EVERY SINGLE TIME BEFOR IT REACHES THE EXIT. DON'T KNOW THIS MACHINE AT ALL. I AM A KONICA GAL AND MY RICHO TECH SUPPORT BUDDY IS ON VACATION. CAN YOU HELP ME? THANKS!

If you're lucky enough to have a complete fuser to swap for fault finding, then that's where I would start. You could also see if the jam is caused by all cassettes and paper sizes. Also I would check out the transfer\separation assembly, I think these use a charge at 2nd transfer, check that connection.

What's probably happened is someone's ragged a jam out of it and pushed one of the stripper plates out of position. If you've got a manual for this beast handy, follow the procedure for resetting the pawls after belt replacement. It involves clam-shelling the fuser open and pushing two little plastic wedges between the pawls and the belt to set the correct distance.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.
