    compatible toners

Got a customer with a G. MP6000 and a G. 6002. Gone a bit cheapskate lately and they went and bought compatible Ricoh 1060 toners from a company called Allcopy in the UK, after always using the original Gestetner toners. After a few hundred copies, the MP6000 copy faded to virtually 'barely visible', half a dozen forced toner cycles to bring it back up, but then seemed to start fading again (coincidence !) . The 6002, hadn't noticed any difference yet, but the toner probably had not worked its way into the dev yet. I know its the fault of the toners they stuck in the machines, and that its probably knackered the developers, even though the customer insists its not the toners, and "look, the 6002 is still OK, it can't be the toners, so there has to be a problem with the MP6000 !). I raised my hands and told them, as Arnold once said, "I'll be back". Anyone had any experience with these specific toners ?

check the contract there on. if your providing service it should state using toner and media and if it causes damage to the machine and there liable. You have the same questions all the time with heavy paper out of spec well its always worked before - so what! if it's out of spec I'm not guaranteeing it's going to work. non oem toner is cheap for a reason its crap and unreliable. it's got no quality control from one batch to the next and just because the other one works means nothing. easy thing to do is re dev it and put genuine toner in and test it and if it works bill them for the parts and labor and see if it works out cheaper then.

          Hi.

I used some compatible made for a MP6500 etc but it did not work. The toner did not fuse in my instance but faded copies were starting to appear. I renewed the dev as it was contaminated and went back to normal. Do the same and tell them to use the correct toner. If it does it then, fine , its a problem with the machine but we all know its the toner.

compatible toners are very unreliable. they make reliable machines like them, unreliable.
