[Misc] MPC5502 booklet finisher - removing output tray

    Hi all,
I have a client that loves the MPC5502, but dislikes the limited output capacity of the saddle stitch booklet finisher for folded booklets.
I have seen them bottom out tray removed on previous models, allowing the client to put a "box" underneath to hold more than 10 or 15 folded booklets. Can the sensor on the arm that rests on the output be removed?
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks.

dude, remove the funny looking arm, then put some blu-tac or glue some card onto the right hand optical sensor.

once the arm is removed you will see the two sensors....im sure its the right hand one that needs to be cheated.

Will this create any issues / errors when the "box" is filled with output? I presume that the sensor we are cheating is the one that stops the output when the tray is full?

What I've done in the past is to just flip the tray over, place a smooth piece of cardboard or manila folder over it and secure it with tape (neatly). Then it acts as a guide to the box.

Thanks teebee. That sounds like a tidy solution, too, and it would keep all sensors in play. I might give that a try first.
