    Savin 2535 Finisher Issue

    Hey,
I have a 1000 sheet hanging finisher that is causing some headaches.
Basically, the finisher lift tray goes down upon startup...but not back up. So each time I start the machine...it goes down about 2 inches and the stops there...So if I do a collate job...the paper falls about two inches and makes an output mess.

I was thinking maybe it was the stack heigh sensor. Originally I thought maybe motor, but it seems to go down just fine...only problem is going up.

Thanks for the help in advance!

I've been working on a DSM651 that's been doing exactly the same thing, different finisher like.

Anyway, check the finisher sensor operation with Input tests in SP modes, it might lead you to said duff sensor. After that, try moving the tray in output modes, see if it lifts back up correctly. Failing that try firmware, sensor, harnesses and finisher main board.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Does it home properly when you power on the machine or lower it manually? If it does it's probably not the upper limit sensor. If not it could be the motor or the board. I've not had any motor or board issues so my instinct says sensor.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.

        lift tray

It doesn't go up properly...When I power it up, the lift tray does go down about two inches and stops, but it doesn't go back up.

Reading the service manual it says that it should go down, then up til it hits the sensor, then back down until it clears the sensor, then slightly up again.

So basically it goes down slightly and stops and stays there. If I restart it, it goes down a bit more and stops. Do this about 4 times and it reaches the bottom and stays there...

Only way to get it back up is to manually lift it up.

It sounds like the upper limit sensor is failed or dirty. I can't think of how this model handles the upper limit off the top of my head, but it could be a mis aligned sensor actuator also. Sounds like it reading it as at the home position all the time.

Well the only 2 finishers that can be used with this mainframe are SR790 and a SR760. Savvy I believe you have the SR790. Besides cleaning out the upper limit sensor I would also check the lift motor and check the teeth on the lift brackets. I had a SR790 that was NIB that right off did something similar. The axle that ran between the 2 sides of the brackets was off by 1 or 2 teeth and would cause the tray to jam when trying to go back up. Once it was aligned correctly the problem was gone.

            Hope this helps.

On most of the Ricoh finishers if you hold up the exit sensor and power on the machine the tray will power down.
It seems your exit sensor is doing this on its own.
I have had several that do this. When you strip the exit section I have found either a faulty sensor or the exit area is bent in a way to prevent the actuator from moving between the sensor.
For this fault it is rarely the main PCB.

I think it is the upper limit sensor, the one in the center.
If that fails when the tray is going up, it is stopped by the microswitch on the rear side, the "failsafe" switch. I think that is what is happening on initialiazation, then when it goes down it thinks it is at the home position. Replace the upper limit sensor.
