    MP6001 Java Card Swaperoo

    OK, silly question.

Is it possible to move a Java card from one MP6001 to an identical 6001?

I'm not worried about the apps on it - I can take care of those.

One call to Ricoh tech support said yes, and another no.

    Gotta love the consistency!

I'm pretty sure you can, just not sure if there are any exceptions. I've done it before with no problems.

      Gracias.

The only issue is that I'm working with a tech 2,500 miles away who insists that it can't be done, and his FSM is backing him up on it.

You could do a fresh update of the SDK then put it in the other machine, it'll just treat it as a new card.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

            Thanks for the replies.

I just removed all the apps from it and flashed it using RXOP to the newest version, so it's ready to go.

FYI... The tool works great, except that it takes a good 8 to 10 minutes... a PAINFULLY long time!

You can easily move the java cards from 1 unit to another, as long as you uninstall the java applet from the current machine before you move the card !!! been there done that !!

                Thanks, Tonerbomb!

Too bad the helpdesk didn't give the same answer. Ugg.
