mp9000. machine show copying only, when i press copy button

when i press copy button, machine's display show copying only. engine does't run.
but i still can print from computer. it mean when i do printing from computer, it is ok.
but copying, it doesn't work.

Sounds like it could be a HDD problem but I had a 2051 that did the same thing, and unplugging the HDD did not help. I removed the controller cover and found the processor heat sinks (cooling fins) completely packed with dustball crap. I gently blew out the controller and it resolved the issue.

This might be silly, but does your machine have an automatic document feeder?
If not, make sure the machine isn't set to automatically sort. If it is set that way, the machine expects multiple copies of multiple originals that will be sorted into groups. The machine will therefor scan the originals when you press the copy button, but it will only print the copies after you press the "#" key until you turn the automatic sorting feature off.
This is also true if you are putting the original documents on the platen glass on a machine with a document feeder.

It was a hdd problem, I removed the hdd connector and reconnect it back has resolved the problem
