R-2045 fax option

customer called saying light on fax button is red which it was and something about address book being deleted according to their it man was not. They use the fax for sending only which still works. When fax button is pressed it says to check whether there is any network problems; below that is the following
[03-15]. Also noticed when fax button is first pressed the screen reads Funtional problem with fax; data will be initialized then address book data all data deleted. Could this problem or any problems with the fax option be caused by something other than the fax pcb(option)???

I had this on a Russian a few years ago. The only cure I could find for it was to enter user tools and reset the system settings and fax features to default with the # key. A customer had done some hardcore faffing with the machine and changed some really random setting that shockingly confused it.
