        HI

Just to be clear, do the buttons beep when you press them, in other words, to the options switch over when a key is pressed?

On start-up, does the machine cycle as per normal, or at least try to?

There is a SC202 condition where the display stays dark, and the engine does not cycle. If you use a strong torch light, and look closely at the display, the code is there to be read. If this is the case, replace polygon motor and possibly bicu (because this gets damaged by the polygon failure).

Most of the colour machines use the same polygon and can suffer the same failure.

        It is worth a check...

I have tried that on the machine mentioned in the previous post, but for some reason could not get into WIM even with the ip of the machine known and it connected via x-over to a host pc with similar ip....My Blackberry's flashlight did the trick though - made the error visible!

What BICU did you fit in that machine? That sc code says that you have the incorrect controller board installed - makes me think that your controller and BICU are not of the same kind at present, therefore the SC code.

                    -003
                    • Incorrect type controller installed
                    • Defective controller
                    1. Replace the controller with the correct type.

I don't think my question was clear.

Are both the controller and BICU currently in the machine, from an MPC2800? Or did you fit a BICU from a 2500/3000?

Reason I ask this is that most boards these days have NVRAM on them that store either serial number or such info, and if you swop boards around on machines that are model specific (like the 2800) it will complain.

The 2000/2500/3000 are the same series - not so much the 2800 although a lot of the parts are similar.

                        I hope this is clearer.

You just need to enter in the machines serial number correctly for the bicu board to clear this sc code. All detailed in the manual for replacing bicu board.

003 refers to the wrong TYPE controller, so it seems like the test BICU in the machine is from a 2000/2500/3000 which is slightly different from the 2800.

                            001 would be serial mismatch.

                              it was clear my friend,

Both the BICU and the controller are MPC2800 i double checked that,it's just that i was not able to see the SC 995-003 as you understand what i was facing.

The dilemma is i would like to know if ordering a new one will sort the error currently i don't have another unit to test and i have already purchased a power board and BICU P/NO. is D4415724,
                              any more ideas,

                              thanks for your help!
