"Cyan toner cartridge not set correctly" MP C5502

Brand new OEM toner cartridge....Customer had taken out the Cyan that was low shook it and put it back in that is when the message came up so I brought out a new one and the message will not go away. I pulled out the Yellow and put it back in same message came up but went away.
There is no noise as if the machine is trying to load toner it is just dead.

Since both the old and the new CYAN cartridges give the same message and the the YELLOW flashed it momentarily and assuming that you are using genuine Ricoh toner, the ID contact board that reads the ID chip on the cartridge could be defective, out of position, or the connector could be loose.

It was an issue with the sensor that reads the toner cartridge. The sensor has three contact points that touch corresponding patches on the toner bottle. The topmost contact point on the sensor was not springing out when used cartridge was removed. Pulled the sensor board, corrected issue with contact, and now the machines "sees" the new bottle.
