    RW 240 Plotbase Error Message!

    Hello,

After the holiday break I came in and try to run our plotter but when I opened the program I got an error message that said, " Could not find valid license hardware Error: 8810198" but we have an unlimited license so im not sure what the issue is? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Does sound like you have an issue with the controller card. So try anything you can before you call Ricoh. This machine has been discontinued by Ricoh. Most of the mechanical parts can be purchased but the controller cards are almost impossible to find unless you want to pay big bucks. thenewer version of this machine uses an imbedded controller and a different software package so nothing will interchange -- Good Luck!!

The resolution is to power off the pc and unplug it from power for 5-10 seconds.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, the PCI controller might be bad [unlikely].

I have seen this same error at least 10 times on different systems

It is usually caused by a momentary power outage/flicker.

            I agree.

The controller card is one touchy little beast.

It is possible to order the controller board as a spare part B6979600
But you must return to Ricoh the broken controller board. This is required to get the new RSP license file for new controller board.
What you must to know - serials number of machine and old and new controller board.
I did it on some old models (Neptune and Dolphin).
Ricoh still support old wide MFP with Ratio controller!

You must know - you can install the new RSP license file ONLY on latest version of PLOTBASE 3.7.4 (that have Ricoh )

              Another way - http://ratio.us/
