aficio 2238 - scan to folder

Hi everyone,
My customer recently decided to replace some of their Windows computers ( Win xp, 7 ) to those of Macs. Is there any problem when scanning to Macs using their existing Aficio 2238? Are all the Mac versions compatible when scanning to the aficio 2238?I have to admit that I am a real green horn when handling these Macs and I do appreciate any help. Thanks in advance,

If the Macs are 10.7 or 10.8, you will most likely have issues: Apple decided to get rid of the standard Samba client and use their own proprietary version, which is similar to SMB3 on the Windows 8 side in terms of the problems it has caused. Set them up now for scan to email: of all the Mac connectivity methods, that will be the easiest.

Here's hoping the machines also have PostScript, otherwise they won't be printing either.

@rthonpm... million thanks for your reply. Yup, it's exactly like what you said, there are issues when using the newer versions Mac 10.7 to 10.8 and postscript is required too when doing printing or they will be printing garbage, like what SArgeNZ said..hehe. Thanks & regards to ya all.

Glad I could help. If they can afford the Macs, then they should be able to shell out for the PostScript chips. Just have them think of it as just another overpriced accessory for the Macs!

Word!! I f-n hate Macs! Never had so much problems as with those white trash canisters of evil. People that Always say "no Macs dont ever have any issues at all, Everything just works!" CLEARLY havent tried setting them up in a corporate network...
