    [Error Code] MPC3003 5503 SC899

    Here we go again!

Just heard we delivered 2 MPC3003 and 4 MPC5503 machines in 1 customer.

Only 2 powered up for now (1 of each).

BOTH displayed SC990 (SC899 in background) over the weekend.

No Bulletins / firmware upgrades on My-Ricoh (Yet)

As far as I'm aware they don't have fax installed (To be confirmed).

Has anyone seen this ON THESE MODELS?

I'm aware of the Fax / PCL firmware issues on other older machines (MPC4502 etc)

Got same sc899 with MPC 3503,error shows intermittently it started with unstable network connection. "check IPV4 address already in use" flashing in the panel.
            any idea on this guys..

Hint: ---> "check IPV4 address already in use" <---

Another device is using the same IP address. Unplug the copier and ping the IP address, if you get a response then check your router to find out what device is currently on that IP. Whilst you are there add the copiers' MAC address to the reservation list to prevent any DHCP conflicts.

The SC899 is most likely a corrupt print job. Restart the copier without the network plugged in, if the device comes to ready, re-plug in and wait for the error to reappear. If it returns after being plugged back in, then there is a corrupt print job in the queue, remove this first then restart the copier to clear.

Here is the recently updated bulletin regarding SC899 and the firmware release schedule.

Most SC899 errors appear to occur when printing select web pages from Internet Explorer.
The workaround for now is to change vector to raster / download as bitmap in the PCL print driver settings.
(This may slow print jobs down a fair bit as bitmaps are generally large and uncompressed images).

                  Re: MPC3003 5503 SC899

I had it last week on an MPC4503 at first boot....no cable plugged in and no print jobs sent to it.
I had just run it up and powered it on for the first time and blam...SC899.
A reboot worked and I updated the firmware as part of the runup procedure anyways...it didn't return but it had me raising one eyebrow to the sky.

A few issues that I know of, Its potentially the on board java failing while coming out of sleep mode. Update Java
