    MPC4000 TIFF/JPEG SCAN

    Hi,

On MPC4000 in scan mode I have problem with rotating image only in TIFF/JPEG full colour scaning. I don't understand why scaner rotate image 90 deg. clockwise only with this settings??? BW text and PDF scan normaly. If posible to switch off this image rotating somewhere in UP or SP????

Even though the below info from the knowledge base references duplex pages, the explanations should still apply.....Bottom line is feed the originals SEF.

The backs of duplex pages that are scanned using the ADF are not properly rotated for JPEG/TIFF file types (full color or gray scale).

    [Introduction]
Image rotation is processor intensive. The scanner does not have the hardware resources to perform a large number of rotations efficiently. Therefore if Full Color (Text/Photo, Glossy Photo) or Gray Scale mode is selected, the scanned images are never rotated.

The reason that PDF images appear to be correctly rotated is because the PDF specification contains a flag that tells a PDF viewer such as Acrobat whether or not to rotate the image. The scanner does not rotate images but it is able to set this flag. The reader opens the document and rotation is performed locally on the PC. This makes it appear that the PDF and JPEG/TIFF data are created with different rotations by the scanner.

The scanned image is dirty. The exposure glass, scanning glass, exposure glass cover, or ADF* is dirty. Clean them. For details about how to clean the device, see "Maintaining your device".
The image is distorted or out of position. The original was moved during scanning. Do not move the original during scanning.
The image is distorted or out of position. The original was not pressed flat against the exposure glass. Make sure the original is pressed flat against the exposure glass.
The scanned image is upside down. The original was placed upside down. Place the original in the correct orientation. For details about how to set originals, See "Placing Originals".
No image results from scanning. The original was placed with the front and back reversed. When the original is placed directly on the exposure glass, the side to be scanned must face down. When the original is inserted into the ADF*, the side to be scanned must face up.
Images are scanned in rotated. If you set the original with its top edge backward and save full color/gray scale images as a TIFF or JPEG file, they are scanned in rotated. When placing an original directly on the exposure glass, align its top edge flush against the left side of the exposure glass.
When inserting a stack of originals into the ADF*, insert them top edge leading in. For details about setting originals, see "
    Setting of Original Feed Type".

Maybe the paper size settings aren't correct?

I don't understand correctly whay Ricoh scaner works with this rotating logic? I check scaners on other brands and I have better results. Canon and HP does not rotate image in any case.

Does anyone know if it possible to switch off this image rotating somewhere in SP mode???

Whay Im asking for this option, becouse a costumer want to scan in archive on JPEG mode with minimum tolerance of deviation leading edge. So, best original orientation for this feature is a shorter feeds way of originals!

        regards

          Hi there
I think it's possible to switch off this image rotating.I usually rotate the image using an Image SDK which supports to rotate ,edit image effectively. But
i want to know is it possible to rotate the image back in the tiff scanner?Or is there any software can help me do the image rotation in an scanner?
