Ricoh Type 21 and type 24 developer

    Hi all

I have one machine Ricoh 1075 that original use type 24 developer, some college told me that i can use type 21 developer in this machine because it is cheaper than type 24. As i know type 21 developer is used in Aficio 1085/1105/2090/2105.
Really the price for type 21 is lower than type 24 but i am still afraid to used it. Can somebody try to use type 21 developer in ricoh aficio 1075. Please share your experience

    Thanks

    Mile

I would use the correct bag of developer. It may work, but you'll always get into trouble on the long run. I never experimented with developer. It's asking for trouble.

these types are the same vintage but the quantity of developer in each bag is different. The 1075 uses more developer. Bottom line, BAD IDEA in my opinion........................................... .

Type 24 all day long and nothing else, unless you want to experience problems.

          Don't take the risk.

As instructed by manufacturer, just use the prescribed Developer so you won't suffer from PQ or CQ issues.

I agree with Tonerbomb. There is a different ammount of developer in the bag. There may also be compatability issues with the toner.

hello, yes. type 21 developer works great replacing the type 24, we've used a lot when we could not get the type 24. but you have to put only 900 grams, because it breaks the development unit. regards

If the recipe number (in this case 161) in the buttom corner of the ingredients list on the bag is the same, it's the same stuff. You can use a gram scale to measure the proper amount.

Been doing it for years & have saved thousands of dollars.

When ordering type 24 toner, use the part number B0649645 which is what is listed in th PM cheatsheet for the 1060 instead of B0649640 shown in the cheat sheet for the 2060. Much lower price.
