[Error Code] SC 995-01 MP5002

HELLO TO ALL!

i replaced a controller board after the icons for the print/scan dissappered,put back the old nvrams in vain,went a step further and replaced the bcu and iob boards,I'm confused as the manual says its a bcu/nvram issue,please help i will really appreciate

SC 995-01

• Defective BCU
  
  
• NVRAM Replacement error
  

1. Install the previous NVRAM.
   
2. Input the serial number with SP5811-003, and turn the main power switch off/on.

995 is a serial mismatch error, there are three areas where the serial is stored on this device and you need to check all three match up.
I think you may habe to go into special sp to input.
The novita one, as far as I am aware cant be adjusted.

i have inputed the serial how do u get to ssp as the manual has a level 3

5811	MachineSerial
002	Display	Displays the machine serial number.
003	BCU	Inputs the serial number.
005	FRAM	Displays the FRAM serial number.

access special sp mode by holding down [#] key then hit Copy sp on the screen. does it have postscript sd card? try it with it out.

thanks for the input,but still cannot access SP 5811-5 FRAM to check the serial no. is this the novita?

u mean nvram? FRAM might be "fixed ram" but not sure.

me too not sure i've even replaced the nvram from another new mcn and input serial no. but to no avail,in a dilemma!

DONE!!!

just realised you have to replace both eeprom and nvram at the same time and input serial no.

you have first to enter SSP mode you hit first all clear key yellow one then 143 then C key twice at that you can acccess & go sp 5811-002 & 003 then change the serial number but FRAM or NOVITA you can't change it.

You must be a grave robber as this thread has been dead and buried for over a year. In the future, check the date of the last previous post to a thread before you add an unnecessary comment. You will find you will get better treatment from us old farts if you do that.
