copier will not let us go into service mode, we've tried clear mode+107+clear/stop hold for 5sec but machine doesn't go into service mode?

Probably has service lock turned on, the customer will have to disable it to allow you into SP mode. You can do it yourself if you know the admin login, and disable it under User Tools.

Or it could be that one or more of the switches on the op panel PCB have been smashed flat. It would be a good idea to try the service lock or firmware, but if you have a working machine you might take the op panel from that along as well and try swapping the op panels first.
