    MP3350 NVRam

Hi, I have an MP 3350 With Print scan where the NVram went bad. I replaced the NVram, but now I don't have the Print/scan option on the copier. This is not a basic model so therefore I don't have the print scan SD card. How can I make this copier back into a full functioning print/scan copier with color scanning? Or dose this copier now become a basic model?

    Thanks
    Luig

    What I have done:
-test the copier with an NVRAM from a different copier
    -replaced the NVRam
-tried to load the NVram info from a different copier

What was the reason for replacing the NVRAM?

Reloading the NVRAM from a different machine will never work because every machine has its' own specific settings.

BTW, if you're having a Mp 3350B, then colour scanning is not possible. The scanner just can't do this.

When you replaced the nvram did you turn the NIC on? Set SP5985 to 1. Default is 0 = off.
Hopefully you have the birth cert for the initial settings...

Hi Eric, thanks for your response. The reason for replacing the NVRAM, was due to the copier not coming to a "ready state" all the time sometimes when it did get to ready it would take 10 -15 minutes then it would code out, finally it stopped coming to ready.

As far as the MP 3350, the copier was not a basic model, In Ricoh terms, the copier was a D020. But know with the replacement of the NVram the print/scan option does not appear as an option. In other word now I just have a plain copier.

Hi mikedci, Thank you for the info, that was it. Something so easy, but it did not cross my mind. Again thanks for your quick response.
PS - I did manage to get a report on a previous time that the machine booted up.
