Locked Print Job default - network admin

So before now we have had locked print set as the default for all users.

Having had to update a few drivers etc. when I now try to set 'Locked Print' as a default on the server, it demands a user ID and password be entered - Well I want it blank so staff can enter their own.

It has been achieved in the past, but we can't remember how - anyone know?

    Thanks.

AFAIK you can't set it up the way you want it, we do it by setting it up as "normal" on the server, and after we install the shared driver on the machine we change it to "Locked Print" to each user so they can have their own User ID & Password.

    I Hope it helps

You can customise most the Ricoh print drivers depending on the product and driver version using Ricoh's print driver editor.

The editor can be downloaded from Printer Driver Editor . Using the editor will allow you to default the print job type to locked with the option of an additional pop-up allowing users to populate their ID and PIN.

When installing in a server centric environment make sure you download and customise the drivers for both the server and client operating systems.
(Customised drivers must not co-exist with original drivers on the same system.)

It is possible to set locked print as a default without customising a driver just the user will need to enter a user id and password before they can use this feature otherwise prints will just come straight out.

Depending on what manufacturer and model you are talking about most drivers will now automatically use a users windows id
