[Misc] MP7500 Missing menus after drive format

    Hi

Our company is currently replacing our fleet of Ricoh printers and I was asked to make sure the machines hard drives were wiped before they left the building. After reading the forums I decided to remove the drive from one machine and wipe it on a PC. This went well and the drive is now back in the printer but I have a strange issue now. When you enter the user tools then system settings all the tabs are missing except admin tools. And within admin tools the only option is Service Mode lock.

Any advice on how I can restore the missing menus would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Graham

Try to re-format the HDD with the copier's service mode. SP 5-832 I believe.

Sorry I should have said that I have used the service mode to format the drive and copy the stamp details over. I am wondering if it is because the printer is currently showing SC550 error?

SC550 is fusing web end, this will need replacing before the machine can be used.

Would the SC550 error make the menus disappear? As we are selling the printer we are not going to replace the web. I just wanted to make sure it was "working" after I formatted the drive.

I think a level A SC does lock most of the menus out. You'll have to replace the web or temporarily fit a good one to test it.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

              Hit it.

As Ruben said, the fusing web will have to be replaced before the machine can be made opperational. That is unless you plan to sell a nonoperational piecs of equipment.
