    [Jamming] Paper jam

    Dear Copy technet members!
    peace be with you

here again i would like to ask your suggestion on our Ricoh aficio 2015, copier,
    1) sometimes when we copy some photocopies it will copy only five or six pages and then says there is a jam paper, open side door to B to remove the jam paper. but when i open it there is nothing. close it then again copy some pages again. after a few pages it will again say there is a paper jammed but found nothing.
    2) the copied page is so dim and many have little dark spots.
    3) does it mean that machine or drum unit is too old?
    4) there are many digits 96876..(i think it's correct.)
    5) what can be the solution?
    please help.

    thanks in advance

One, or all of the following: paper feed roller and separation pad (on paper tray) and/or paper feed clutch in rear of machine (most likely).
Jamming has nothing to do with the drum. But that is the cause of your poor image quality.

You need a tech. Call one

"there are many digits 96876" The PCU is rated from the factory for 45000 prints, we've found that the PCU will sometimes do OK to 60000 prints. But if you haven't ever replaced the PCU, sandmanmac is right, it is it is time for a new one.
While sandmanmac is also right about the jamming, here's a couple off the wall suggestions you might try if you have time. Remove all of the paper from the drawer, and make sure there aren't some sheets at the bottom of the stack that have a corner folded under. Check for any other obvious damage to the paper then, too. And if you can get an unopened ream of paper where the ream wrapper paper isn't damaged, you might filling the drawer with that and see what happens.

The machine needs a good thorough PM. Call a qualified service technician to get the machine looked at.

Ensure that the paper in the tray is flush up against the right hand side of the tray, and that the back-stop is correctly set.
These machines usually make a groaning noise and jam if the paper is set too far back.

                THANK YOU FOR UR REPLY
problem has been fixed by changing paper detection sensor (fixing).
