    Aficio 2016 & Network TWAIN scanning-->SC120

    Hello experts!

As you see, this is my first post in this forum. I'm "old school tech" working with copiers since 1980, so maby these nowadays options (scanning, printing etc.) are too much for oldish .
I'm not the Ricoh specialist, so i hope i find one from here.
    Here is my problem:

Network twain scanning from doc.glass gives error SC120, but only from doc.glass. Scanning from doc.feeder or copying from doc.feeder/doc.glass works great. I have been trying scanning with Photosop and Office Document Scanning. The twain driver is correct, do i need something
else, what i do wrong? . Any ideas?

    Thanks beforehand!

There most be another variable, SC120 is not a TWAIN code, as IMIND says it is a machine code. Is the problem intermittent?

          Hi

The problem is not intermittent, it happens everytime when i try scan from doc.glass. The scanner starts movin and after 2 to 3 centimeters it comes
back and then --> sc120. And yes, i know it's not a twain code! It only appears when i use twain scanning.

Are you pressing down on the glass, or are you copying a book from the glass?

              Nope, that's not the reason!

Its not too hard. 1st you need the firmware
2nd (if its an mfp) you need an SD card.Load the firmware onto the card and then use the card to update the machine.

All i mean for that what i wrote was: if i only have this one model of Ricoh and i don't have tools, skill, knowledge or ability to do the update, so it's waste of time, yours and mine!
Only thing that piss me off, is this case!

I hope that my poor english is reason for this mistake!

                            Maybe....maybe not.
Are you sure you are using the correct twain driver? (maybe a strange question, but not unimportant).

Before you update the firmware on the Ricoh, you will need a flash card (also software to put it on the flashcard), and (rarara) the firmware.
The procedure isn't that simple, and i will advise you if you're not familiair with these machines, to leave it to a Ricoh tech.....

I joined copytechnet to gain information about problems that i can't solve as a field service tech. so i hope that others will help me too with some cases, just like 'justfix' need. I also joined to help people like 'justfix' or others with their problems, in howfar i can. Justfix, this forum is something for Prof. technicians, and i can understand the frustrations of others, but the reaction of them is even unprofessional. So take both your decision to react or not, but think as a pro....
