Slow down DF on colour 03's

Does anyone know how to slow down the DF scan speed on the new 03 series (MPC5503 to be specific). My senior tech has asked me to see if I can find anything to essentially make the paper go through slower and be more gentle but after going through user/service and system maintenance manuals I can't seem to find anything that would help. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe using enlarge or reduce magnification? That does change the primary scan speed on most machines.
Still, that will only change the speed, but will not be any more gentle.

Why do you need to slow it down? You should only be using normal paper originals in the ADF, anything else can, and will, jam.
