I have a Savin 4022sp and I recently replaced the hard drive. When i did that, I lost the saved "pathways" to the 2 computers that I used to scan to. I tried to recreate them using the Smart Device Monitor Utility. I was able to make the icon appear on the printer's display, but when I try to scan I get the message "failed to send data". When this has happened in the past it had to do with Norton's firewall not allowing communication with the printer, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. Can anyone help?

The address book is kept on the hard drive. Just use WIM and reenter the path, that is the easy way or go to the address book on the machine and "browse" to the folder. That is a sure way to get it right.sigpic

When I have had a problem like this with the scanner I have had to go into the scanner software on each computer in the Set I/O device area and delete the copier and then add it again. It is the only way that I have found to get the icon to reappear on the copier. Hope this is helpful.

User tools>System Setting>Key op tools>address book mgt>(choose a folder)Press Folder, then choose browse and browse to the folder of choice.
This is best way.
The other way is using Web image Monitor, not Smart Device Monitor. But there you have to enter the path in the address book and while it can work it is not as sure as the manual method above.sigpic

Make sure that nothing has changed on the network like a firewall or Nortons something.
Then get the IP of the machine where the folder is located and enter that into the first field of the path as in: \\192.168.1.200 then try browsing from there. If you still cant. Make sure that SMB is enabled on the machine use either the control panel or WIM.
BTW I just noticed you're from Lake Mary, I was born and raised in Sanford. Graduated from SHS in '61.sigpic

Jo,
You are the f-ing, MAN! Thanks a lot...I can't tell you how frustrating this was for me. Can't say thanks enough!
And it's always nice to talk to a neighbor, even if it's a former one...I have livind in LM for about 5 years, but I have lived in the Orlando area since about 1978. Went to Winter Park HS, then UCF, lived in Casselberry after college, then LM. Great place to live, except for the HUGE drop in property values lately!
Anyway, thanks again, my friend!Comment
