    Toner haze

Ricoh Aficio 1022 and 2018 copiers: What would cause toner haze on the back side of copies only, mainly on the lead edge? Also, this only occurs on single copies. On multiple copies only the first will have it, others after won't. Thank you for any help given.

Even with after market, the toner on the back side of the lead edge is coming from the transfer roller. Changing to Genuine Ricoh toner and replacing the PCU or developer might not correctly the problem until the transfer roller is replaced. Enabling transfer roller cleaning will extend the length of time before the transfer roller starts building up enough toner to bring the problem back.

it is overtoned which is why it is on the transfer roller

replace developer or pcu, then clean or replace transfer roller.

best to only use OEM toner for these.
