Ricoh MP C2800, C3300, C4000, C5000 Colour drum unit price

    Hi all

Ricoh are telling me the price for a Colour drum for a Ricoh MP C2800 series copier costs over £400 each!

This is for the drum only not the drum and developer.

Black drums cost a third of this price.

Am I being told porkies or is this true?

I know of the black drum mod but wanted to double check the above.

    Thanks

Yes that's about right that's why we fit the MPC2500 Black drums in all the MPCs from the MPC2000 to the MPC5502s and you only have to cut the edge off the connector or modify the base plate you don't need to swap any wires when fitting B224 2042 in those.

You CAN use the 2256 drums but you have to swap two wires in the harness as well as shaving the corner of the connector....but as previously stated a quick search of the forums will reveal this info...complete with a "how to" guide.

so the MPC2500 drum would fit the MPC3300?

              Where could I find instructions?

Use your brain and compare connectors dev<>pcu. You must switch 2 cables

don't need any just slice the corner off of the connector basically remove the tiny metal pin it has in it and it should slide right in if the front cover dosnt fit just put the black one from the new pcu in its place instead compare the connector from the one you remove with the black one and you should see what needs doing.

The Black MPC2500 drum dosnt fit the Black MPC2800 slot it only fits the col ones you can make it fit by swapping the wires connecting to the dev unit if you are stuck though and don't have a black MPC2800 one.

With the connector facing you and the pin tabs facing up, swap the 2 wires on the left end of the connector for the D029 PCU's.
