I have an MP C 4000 that jams only on when printing faxes. Prints and copies fine, but will jam when printing incoming faxes. Any suggestions other than a new manual will be welcome Thanks.

Re: MP C4000 fax jams
Is one tray set for printing faxes only? I'd guess that the paper in that tray is loaded the wrong way round, set the tray size to auto detectThere are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary maths and those who don't -
Re: MP C4000 fax jams
I had one customer who had one try set for legal paper but loaded with letter size SEF. When a FAX of a legal size document came in, the machine would try to print from that instead of reducing it onto letter size paper. Result was a intermittent jam when receiving Faxes.Comment

Re: MP C4000 fax jams
I seriously doubt it has anything to do with 'faxes', but more likely that either it's the tray being used to print them (as suggested), or more likely that the faxes are being output to a different exit tray than copies and prints - such as the upper 1 bin tray (2), and that's where the problem lies.

Re: MP C4000 fax jams
Listing where the jam is located would help, if the paper jams before the fuser then maybe its a tray/size issue but if its jamming after the fuser then it could be the sensor in the interchange unit, or the junction gate etc. You can test it by just changing your printing output bin to the same as the fax bin, then print from each tray and see where it jams, my guess is if it jams everytime you get a fax then its at the interchange, if its intermittant then maybe its a paper size issue.Comment
