    Ricoh 2020D Waste Toner Disposal

    Hi

Does anyone know how to locate and remove the waste toner on a Ricoh2020D?
Printer has started to print faintly. Have replaced toner cartage but still persists.
Any tips for self maintenance, servicing of the unit? I am located in country area, not services by Ricoh.

    Thanks

I believe the 2020D does not have a waste toner container. Excess toner on the drum is cycled back into the developer.

    Two things to check:
    1. You may have dust build up on the shield glass. Most of these entry level models have the shield glass located under a small pull out cover below the toner bottle tray. You may have to lift the toner handle to see it. Slide the glass out, it usually has a strip of plastic film to pull it with. Clean it with a clean dust cloth and reinstall it.
    2. If you have over 60K since the last time the PCU was rebuilt, you will need a PMB12160K PM kit, B0399510 OPC Drum, and B1219640 Developer Type 28.

Aneurysm has his hands full trying to correct every that has gone wrong since the hack. I kind of think that there might still be some hacker coming in and doing small changes every couple of days.

vBulletin has been the target of quite a few hacks and vulnerabilities of late. Poor Aneurysm is probably on the verge of one right now with all the hassles he's had.
