    mp 2550

    Customer called with an sc 671 or 6711 code, she isnt sure, i dont usually service ricoh, and i cant find this code ...any help would be appreciated..thanks in advance

    No wonder you can't. It doesn't exist on this machine
    So let's start by getting the actual SC code, before we start guessing.

      Its means the wrong board is installed in the machine. If you meant MP c2050 it is the controller board.

          Agreed if the controller was just replaced and someone used one from another machine some of these models wont let you put in a used one you have to get a new controller board, otherwise its the wrong controller or a wrong bicu was installed.

          P.S. mp c2050 and c2550 are pretty much the same machine.

          If nothing was replaced recently and the error just came on then either firmware needs to be updated/reloaded, the controller is bad or in a rare occasion I have found that when a network switch burns up it can send bad info to the controller and cause it to error with 671 or 672 errors that can easily be tested by rebooting with the network cable unplugged and see if it codes.
