I got a ARDF 79 that takes the 1st page but the second jams almost all the time. I can see the pick up tyre and the belt turning on top of the paper but the paper simply doesn't go in. I have changed the clutch,torque lmt and all the relevant parts regarding the feed and sep but still nothing. the only way i can make it feed is to apply more pressure on lift plate but even then it jams eventually. Any one got any more ideas? Yet when it jams i can manually turn the feed ass'y and the paper goes in.

Does 'all relevant parts' include the feed belt? and are you sure it's the correct one?
It doesn't make sense to me that that you say 'everything is turning' and you've replace the torque limiter. If that's really the case, that basically eliminates everything else, so I don't think it is.
I'm leaning towards a gummy reg. clutch, or the one-way bearing on the bushing of the feed belt assembly is slipping.Comment

make sure the plastic piece that the feed belt is wrapped around is not in upside down. Its curved at the the hook end where it sits in contact with the metal shaft, the curve should arch downward, its easy to put them in upside down in which it may grab a sheet and will misfeed the next depending on how much paper you have stacked in there.Comment

What I have noticed is the 1st page gets taken in really fast but the rest incredibly slow. Then it mistimes and generates a jam. It never makes it to a reg roller. The part number is the right one for the belt and the belt bracket is the right way around.I didnt want to change the whole pick up/feed ass'y but it looks like it might be better option.Comment

Is the paper catching check when you open the lid look at the lead edge of paper for any bent or small knick. Also check your registration roller is turning, from what you described the paper is pulling in and stopping while the tire and belt are still spinning on the paper but paper is stuck before registration, i would say your paper is caught on somthing or the reg roller is not turning to pull the paper the rest of the way through. Normally if your pick roller and belt were that bad they would spin out while trying to pull in right away. Go into the adf outputs and make sure the transports and reg rollers all work.Comment
