Is there a way to change PCU value life data on a MPC-2000,2500,3000 and 3500-4500??

Hi everyday when I work I print out smc data (sp 5990-004) on page 2 I check the valu life of PCU at Rotage% and Page%
when Rotage% and Page% reach 100% there is about 80.000 page on the machine. Thats okej because pcu life for (b223-2240) is 80K page.

But today we use B224 PCU insted (everywere). Anyway those pcu can make 120.000 page insted of the old 80.000..

This mean that next time the old machine (mpc2000,2500,3000 and mpc-3500,4500) get to 100% at the SMC list its not 100% becuase this time there is a B224 Pcu so this lives to 150% instead.

What I wonder is if there is anyway in SP that you can change the value so 100% is 120.000 insted of 80.000 copies on those old machine =)

You simply replace at 150% instead of 100%

Does it matter what percentage it says in the smc data, you change it when it needs changing.

I agree...I don't change the pcu til there's a CQ issue directly related to said pcu OR if it's over well over the 100% page count...even better if it just happens to be over life.

I don't fully agree to this...I replace all PCU's when remaining day counter reach 0.

If this isn't done, the will all kindly provide a lot of stripes when the temperature drops to -xx degree outside.

Replace them from going by the PM counters on the smc print out usually Ill replace if its near to 150k The col ones can last longer so replace as and when need to.

Or better still get a colleague to replace them

Nope that doesn't work if you have over 5000 machines, going crazy when the temperature goes under zero. You simply gets to busy, you are forced to do some kind of PM.

how long does it take to change a drum and developer and I am sure your not looking after 5000 of these on your own. you can usually tell if the pcu is getting near the end of its life when you are at a breakdown call and I would change it then. dev units are more important as if they are not replaced then it will take the drums out quicker and destroy the drun drive gears.

We replace dev.units at RMD counter = 0 also.

if we don't do these PM they all will break down at the same time, at temp. under zero. The service team can't handle all these extra call. It is also expensive to have all these PCU replacements in the same month.

You are right, it is quick to change a PCU or developer, but the machines are spred over an entire country, transport is a factor too.

okej then =) just thougt if there was a sp mode... we change when it near 100% (mpc 2800 and so on)... if it 80% then we leave it, .. but it good to have the smc to look at..
