Ricoh 240w shadow image print output

got in a 240w on trade and made about 100 prints great quality all of a sudden shadow of image in a band and gray background whole document. Cleaned ID sensor, drum blade wipe with folded paper, no fix. Meter only 37K square.

    Any suggestions or tips appreciated!!

Try wiping the lens, not the glass the actual lens. It will get a film buildup on it and espically since the machine has been moved with the toner and developer still installed dust will get all over everything.

DITTO this!!! The release lever could cause this, if the people moving it knew about it, and released the blade tension..........

Now a service provider out of state is telling our account they need a drum (it is scored), new dv (developer) x 2, new charge corona, new PlotBase software, new drum blade.

The meter being 36K square I could see a clean on charge corona - but all this other stuff? The black fill is A-OK in block letters, etc.

Again, we have a repeat image partial and gray background - what am I missing here?

I would replace your cleaning blade & Charge wire/grid wires(4), that's a pretty old box. Double image sounds like the blade.

I agree. Double image could be warped drum blade. It can also be caused by toner buildup on the hot roller. Overall grey background could be dirty corona, low charge voltage, high development bias, or dirty pressure roller cleaning roller.

i once had a 240W that has been not used for more than 2 years, very low meters on it, when we plugged it in and checked the operation, we had some background and ghostimage/offsetting, after some time we found that the Hotroller was bend due to long inactivity...maybe a hint?
