I am currently perplexed by the doc. feeder jamming code (003). I have cleaned all the paper path rollers and sensors as well as replaced the feed/ sep rollers. I am about to pull and clean all the one way bearings in the doc. feeder. It seems that this issue is sporadic in nature, by that I mean, I can run a stack of paper through and no jams, however on my next try it jams. I have run the doc. feeder through a free run and it feed all the paper with no issues. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you been able to observe the feeder when it jams? Have you blown the dust and paper lint off the sensor black reference pads. Particularly the one for the skew sensor.

Thats the feeder with the sensors on the lid facing down isnt it with a felt pad in the guide plates those pads get dusty and will cause the sensor to go off, i think there is also one under by the white plate that you take two screws out clean the felt and the sensor.

If it runs in free run no problems then its the sensor somewhere, 003 i think is the first or second sensor as paper goes in.

The clutches in these DF's can be sporadic when they wear out. They are cheap to replace so don't be shy.

Thank you for all the responses. I blew all the sensors and and black pads associated with them and still 003 jamming. So, I installed a new feed clutch and the issue is resolved. What threw me for a loop was the sporadic nature of the jamming as well as when it was in free run it worked flawlessly. Thank you, again.
