Took in a Savin 8035 on trade that is too clean to dump on a wholesaler. I need to get it to network scan on Windows Vista and 7. Do I need scan software loaded on the client computers? Could someone give me a thumbnail sketch of how to go about this? I am primarily a Sharp guy.I have it printing OK.

Re: Savin 8035 (Ricoh MP3500) Scan set-up
You have three types of scanning available. Scan to email, scan to folder, and TWAIN scanning.
Scan to email with that old a machine can run into problems depending on your email provider and ISP. There are numerous threads dealing with scan to email.
San to folder can be either SMB, FTP, or NCP. Most common is SMB. As Jomama said, you must have the proper network firmware.
TWAIN scanning requires installing the TWAIN driver on the computer and a software that can be used to scan. There are many scan to PDF utilities on the web both free and charge. I like Irfanview which is free for personal use. You do have to install both the program and the plugins to work with PDFs. Some specific field software, especially medical and legal, have PDF scanning built in.Comment
