    SC535 - Ricoh C2551 - Prod Code: D104/D106

Hope everyone having a good day! I ran into this sc 535 error code on a Ricoh MPC2551. The book said:
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
Details (Symptom, Possible Cause, Troubleshooting Procedures)SC 535
    Controller box fan error
The motor lock signal error is detected for 10 seconds after the motor
    lock signal was first detected.
    1. Defective controller box fan
    2. Disconnected or defective harness
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem is I look all over the parts catalog and don't see a single fan near the controller box.

What am i missing here? Please helpppppppppppppppppppppppppppp.

I'd greatly appreciate for any input on this problem.

If it's the same as the mpc2550 then I would say it is U015 Electrical # 35. AX640170 FAN MOTOR - MM6 0 DC24V. Search for controller box fan in the service manual and you will see where it is. I think the part above is correct , but you know how it is with these 3d parts books. Good Luck.

      Stupid 3D parts manuals.
Still, check out "U018" #92 to see if that fan will work. Looks to me like it might based on page 4-146 of the service manual. Sorry if that's wrong.

I would believe this to be it as well, the only other fans in the manual would be under Main frame - which is the the left side and fuser exhaust fan, then in the paper exit is the small exhaust fan, and lastly the power supply units 2 fans. The one Totoro is indicating is really the only one on the back panel near the controller.

I am glad to hear I am not the only one who dislikes the 3d manuals they are really crappy most field techs don't have super computers to run the stuff needed to make then really viewable, most of my part look ups are done on my cell phone. My only real grip with all the manuals is how generic their labeling is. You know when your trying to find registration sensor its just listed as photo sensor instead of them just listing it as registration photo sensor so you can easily search for it. All sensors and motors should say what they are for like fuser drive motor etc. anyways good luck.

All else fails take the back cover off and run though the outputs and see if that fan ever kicks on or if it twerks a little instead. I used to have one of the connectors with the wires cut on it so i could plug the fans/motors in to it and stick a battery to them to see if they work or make noise etc.

          From the Service Manual:

Before buying a new fan, check the old one. It might be a loose connector or something caught in the fan. I have a bad habit of leaving fans disconnected and getting error as a result.
