[Misc] Ricoh Aficio 1022 not accepting user code.

I am currently having a strange problem with one machine i.e., Ricoh Aficio 1022 that when we enter the user code to unlock/operate the copier, sometimes it doesn't accept the entered code, but sometimes it does. any guess what can i do to solve this problem. i have tried changing the user code....

Sounds like the enter key is sticking other than taking the display to pieces and swapping the faulty key switch with another one there's not much else you can do.

Is the sound turned on for the operation panel input? If it isn't, try turning it on to help diagnose if it is a faulty button.

1022? We fix these by pushing them down the stairwell on the way to the trash bin.

This is still the bulk of one's customer's fleet for me. Those things will not die: they put in a PCU and toner and I replace fuser and transfer and they keep rolling along for the most part.

thanx all for input, I appreciate your response...I have tried the hard key test and touch screen test both are ok, panel beeps too. perhaps there's a crack or dry-sold on the panel PCB. will replace soon n let you guyz know....but if you have something meanwhile please do let me know... thanx again.

I agree these machines will run all day long with very little maintenance not like the MP4000 which i swapped it out for
bad mistake.

replaced touch panel to solve the problem.... it seems that touch panel was malfunctioning due to moisture between layers. anyways thanx for your valuable comments....
