[Jamming] RICOH 3045 duplex jam+ j019

my ricoh 3045 works perfect with one side copies but would always jam when you try copying duplex..it jams in the fuser Unit when paper is half way out of the copier and throws a J019 code.

pressure roller was in bad shape and I changed it but still wont work with duplex..

Check the pads on the junction gate in the inverter unit: they wear down over time and leave the adhesive behind which causes them to stick together.

why the hell does Paul of just manuals think every damn problem can be solved with manuals? even the best of technicians sometimes get stuck, scratch their heads and consult another tech. that doesnt mean they dont have manuals or havent read them.

Like the rest of us, Paul is trying to make a living and he's a major contributor to the site so think of the posts as just a commercial. He has been known to PM with helpful hints and guides that don't get reported as much as the negative PM's.

Everyone bags on Paul and his manuals. Paul with save you one day and you will be thankful for it. Paul has access to to firmware, obscure manuals and custom software that no one else can get. Just sayin'......................

Oh really? he could just make a comment or an input before posting his commercial... well my observation is that 99.9% of the time he just paste his pre written commercial on peoples questions without even considering if the manual is what they need to solve their problem.

Anyway am still opened to suggestions about how to fix the copier. pads on the junction gate are fine but still keeps jaming.

How is he supposed to know whether you have or don't have manuals if you don't indicate that you do? Do you see anything in your initial post that indicates you actually have a manual? J019 is a user jam code after all. No person who actually knows how to use a manual would ever use that code when talking to technicians.

If you had a service manual in hand and knew how to useit, you would know that a jam location 019 is not a fuser jam. Proper identification of the jam location would lead you to the what to check. In fact if you had a data log print out and knew how to use it, it would also tell you where the jam is occurring at.

I see your a new member with few posts, your dig at Paul will earn you no respect as Paul does contribute a lot to this site financially with his advertising so we are all grateful to him for his part in keeping this site going. As stated, if you had the manual you would not be using user codes on here. May I suggest a more friendly attitude to fellow members and they will be more than willing to help in every way they can. If not, then few will be willing to give you the time of day.

mehnn i cant help but laugh...I didnt complain about others posting and not contributing.. I was speaking in direct reference to Paul and paul only.By the way someone was kind to send me that firmware i asked and since then others did PM me and i sent it to them and i was glad to help.

I have never been rude to any member of this forum before (except paul though) if he contributes financially to the site Thank him for that but Ive not seen any rule in the forum that says everyone is obliged to accept unsolicited advertisement from paul and cant complain.

I cant fault some of you who are grateful to him for his business but your rants aint changing my perception about him anyway..If i wanted his service i would have contacted him.
