i know, but i do this only to see if the machine boots without sc codes.Leave a comment:

Re: Aficio1022 - Error Code SC541.....then Error Code SC542
This can be very dangerous!!! The thermostats are installed there to cut the power to the lamps to prevent overheating! Doing this can cause major damage to the machine!Leave a comment:

Re: Aficio1022 - Error Code SC541.....then Error Code SC542
for testing purposes, take out the thermal fuses and close the circuit with a clip, if it works you know if the problem is about the thermal fuses. at least you eliminate one probable cause..Leave a comment:

2 stats in series,
one goes open the other doesnt,
simply give the back of it a clout then peform 5810 in service modeLeave a comment:

Re: Aficio1022 - Error Code SC541.....then Error Code SC542
If you have Changed the Thermistors, and the Thermal Fuses if the lamps are ok then you have a power supply problem. Very rare but have had it when screw came out and shorted the fuser, blowing the power supply.Leave a comment:

Re: Aficio1022 - Error Code SC541.....then Error Code SC542
Actually, it kind of sounds like the part of the fuser casing that holds the rear hot roller bearing in place has broken.
There is at least one entire thread on that subject that I had bookmarked, but the computer the info was on died recently so I don't know where it is right now. Sorry.Leave a comment:

Re: Aficio1022 - Error Code SC541.....then Error Code SC542
Does the Hot Roller get hot/warm at all?
If it's cold and the lamps + thermofuses are OK then the fault is on the Power Supply board.Leave a comment:

Re: Aficio1022 - Error Code SC541.....then Error Code SC542
Is the Fuser Roller Original????, i had a similar problem with Katun Fuser Rollers, they was a little bit thicker that the original, causing SC 542+SC 541Leave a comment:

Thanks everybody for your help! It's great to see people offering assistance to others out of good spirit when problems arise.

If you've done a 5801 and the machine hasn't run a copy since, that's why all those SP's are at zero. You could just replace the lower fusing frame (B0274072 I think) and the thermostats instead of buying a new fuser.Leave a comment:

This usually means a problem with the Image Density sensor.Leave a comment:

That way you dont destroy the stat by hitting it too hard! (like I have in the past)...
Obviously to be used fir testing purposes of course! !! :-)Leave a comment:

Double-checked thermal fuses: checked OK. Did some poking in service mode -- SP mode 2220 (Vsg/Vsp/Vsdp/Vt/Vts Display) --
every one of these voltages shows 0.00???
Should these voltages show 0?
If not, is this power supply problem?Leave a comment:

Sounds very much like upper fuser frame has gone this machine & others are prone to it !!!Leave a comment:
