    email

Are you trying to scan to an internal email address. If not you need to add the IP address of the machine to the Relay restrictions on the server to allow it to email externally

Are you using Outlook, Lotus notes or something else as your email client? What kind of email server are you using i.e... exchange, Linux email server?? There are a lot of tricks to these copiers for different email servers.

Your SMTP server is "IP Number" or Name resolved?... check your DNS

if none of the above work, try a telnet session

          open the command promp -
          - Type telnet servername 25
          - helo servername
          - mail from: machine_email_address@customers_domain.com
          - rcpt to: intername_e-mail_address@customers_domain.com
          -data - type your message - enter - enter - .

          quit or exit to close.

9 times out of 10 there is a dns issue. Make sure their dns is correct in the machine. Easiest way to obtain that info is at a PC-->Start-->run-->type "cmd" (without quotes) and click/press enter. At command line type "ipconfig/ all" without qoutes. Pull the dns from the second to last line of info and enter that into the Ricoh.

If you have the info available let us know what type network enviroment the customer has and never automatically take what the customers IT dept. as gospel.
