Aficio SP C242SF - reset admin password or factory reset

Hi

I've got an Aficio SP C242SF whose administrator password has been changed from the default. The password is not what is on record.

It seems like the only way to reset the administrator password is to perform a factory reset.

How does one perform a factory reset this device?

Try logging in as Supervisor no password. Supervisor can do one thing, change the admin password. If supervisor password has been changed, the only way I know of to restore default passwords is to replace the NVram.

Try this.....

The "Reseller Default" menu can be entered directly at power-on. If you want to enter
this mode directly, try the following procedure.

• Turn on the machine while pressing the "Copy" key.
  

This should put all settings back to default

That advice worked perfectly.

To anyone who needs to recover the password this really works. I'd recommend noting down all the settings you need first to make your life a bit easier.
