Ricoh MPC 5000 - Inital Scan Settings Show Menu Level 2 Protect

Hey Everyone,

Just picked up a second hand MPC 5000 to replace our 2045e. I'm trying to configure the scan settings and I'm locked out it seems? I've logged into the web image monitor as Admin and can't seem to find how to unlock my scanner. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sounds like administrator authentication is enabled. These settings can be changed in user tools.

The default login credentials are admin with no password.

What scan settings are you trying to configure?
Scan destinations are added through the address book...

I'm trying to setup my scan to email. I had it working great on the 2045e, but can't find where I need to put in all of the mail server details.

I thought it was found in initial setup of the scan menu on the machine?

EDIT: I'm looking through the "configuration" settings on the Web Image Monitor (where I setup the 2045e email settings) and there is nothing listed for email. See screenshow below.

configuration > email(under device setitngs) is where all the smtp info goes
the email destinations will be added in the address book

Hey thanks for the reply. Did you see the screenshot? I don't have an "email" tab under device settings. I do have one in the 2045e settings page, so that's why I'm led to believe this is somehow locked out?

Do I need to install some sort of extended feature software for the email feature to work perhaps?

Its all done in the Address Book tab iirc the email settings and folder settings.

I must be a real idiot, because I don't see anywhere in the address book settings where I input all of my mail server information. I only see where to input destination addresses and settings associated with the scan to email.

Either that, or I'm truly missing the menu on my machine?

you don't put your mail server info in anymore just the addresses of the places you want to email to and you give each one a name ect.

you will need to give the MPC and sender name its in there somewhere.

Normally email would be there right under download logs...
Might be worth a try resetting the system and scanner to factory defaults...
make sure you have the setup info then from the user tools menu hit the # key and system select yes then same with scanner

I'm certainly not doubting you, but how does the copier know what the SMTP for the outbound server is? Generally, I need to put in everything from outbound port number, SSL info, authentication for the server etc...

Not sure if I'm following the sequence as it's not resetting for me.

Would it be the same as a * and # reset?

hit the user tools/counter button
push and hold the # on the numeric keypad then touch the system setting on the touchscreen.
you should get a prompt asking if you want to restore to factory defaults...
