    MPC3003 Slow Printing

    Hi Everyone,

We have various customers with Ricoh MPC3003's that take a long time to print documents. Does anyone know of any current problems with slow printing with these machines? firmware, settings etc.

    Cheers

Need more info... Are they using windows 8? Are they printing using "Standard TCP/IP ports"? etc, etc...

Yes, read the notes for the PCL firmware updates and see if it sounds like your issues.

We have several 3003's at the moment and haven't had a problem with speed.. but we update firmware immediately on install so it could be you need to check firmware.

We do have issues with a few of the machines not feeding from the bypass when paper / labels / card is low if anyone knows about that?

I'm afraid there is nothing you can do to improve speed of printing large files, it is due to the processor chip and is a limitation of the device

            Hi,

Thanks for all your replies. Just to add that we are using the Postscript Option, and printing from MAC's.

Still on the search for a possible resolution.

I agree with Debs. Postscript files can generate a lot of data, far more than the file itself.

                  Re: MPC3003 Slow Printing

I had 4 devices in the field MPc2003/3003's printing from word (standard word docs) tcp/ip print

hdd was formated then stamp data done had no issues

                  In the Printer properties, Start
printing after last page is spooled"

                  this helped alot.

What driver are they using? Is it just one type of file that causes issues? Have you tried re-seating the RAM? Have you tried setting the port to LPR? The queue name is lp.

Yeah, didn't see that when I was using the BlackBerry last night... Hopefully the issue was fixed by now.

I think the answer was to swap it for a konica lol. Joking aside, changing network speed to half duplex on machine helped.
