    Re: File Format Converter

How I understand it, the file format converter is to convert files stored in the Document Server from a format that a copier understands into a format that a computer understands, in particulary into PDF format or TIFF format, so that the documents scanned into the Document Server can be downloaded and viewed from a computer.
From a computer start a web browser, type in the IP address of the copier to access Web Image Monitor, then click on Document Server, and if there are scanned files in the Document Server, you can download them in PDF or TIFF format.

How I understand it, you can always scan to a folder in PDF or TIFF and you do not need a file format converter for that.
File Format Converter is only needed to download files stored in the Document Server, that is on the hard drive of the copier. This is because the documents in the Document Server are stored in a unique format specifically for the copier, these files are bigger in size with a better resolution than storing the same file in PDF or TIFF.
When you convert a scanned image to PDF or TIFF, you will lose out on the quality of the scanned image.
