Re: Ricoh Pro C901 SC670 Error
SC 670, Engine Startup Error, is occuring every time. Change SP875-001 to 1 and the ' Functional problem detected, Press restart after the current process" will no longer be displayed on the first occurance of an error.
Check all connections the the engine board. If the connections are all good, replace the engine board. -
Re: Ricoh Pro C901 SC670 Error
I'm not able to get into SP mode from that screen. Also which board is the Engine board. I have looked in the service manual and can not figure out which board it actually is.Comment

Re: Ricoh Pro C901 SC670 Error
The only connection on the BCU/Engine board is on the back it plugs right into the IOB board, there aren't any cables or anything to it. I removed it, reconnected it, and just for the heck of it disconnected and reseated all the connections on the IOB board it attaches to. But I am still getting the SC670 error. Is the BCU/Engine board definitely bad then? Is there nothing else to check or test before I send it out for repair??Comment

Re: Ricoh Pro C901 SC670 Error
Replace your bcu board.
if that fails i would swap iob1 and iob2 as a setComment

Re: Ricoh Pro C901 SC670 Error
I sent the BCU and IOB 2 in to Hytech for repair and they said both boards tested fine. Is there any other board that could cause the error. We have reseated every connection on the BC, IOB1, IOB2, and the IPU. Any help would be appreciated.Comment

Re: Ricoh Pro C901 SC670 Error
did they test them in another 901?
Also i forgot to mention theres a LED sequence boot up you can reference from the boards (which led's flashing sequence lights up) when you boot the machine upComment

Re: Ricoh Pro C901 SC670 Error
Have you tried using a crossover from your laptop yet? The controller can cause 670 and 672 on Ricoh's as well. Remember you can't get into sc mode with a 670/672 but, you can get into 1993 and go into your checksum and see if its your controller or boot not firing. Hope that helps.Comment

Re: Ricoh Pro C901 SC670 Error
Yes they tested them in another C901. Which boards should I check the LEDs on? Do they show you anywhere in the manual what LED should be coming on each board?Comment

Re: Ricoh Pro C901 SC670 Error
We put everything back together and reseated all the connections on IOB 1, 2, BCU, IPU and the controller and the error went away. So it was just a loose connection somewhere. Thanks for all the help.Comment
