check if there is any paper obstruction in the drive of tandem tray 1...
fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.

Remove the right (lift) tray and inspect.
          1. Remove all paper.
          2. Remove the tray front (2 screws)
          3. Remove the two screws holding the left tray to the left most rail to allow the left tray to pull out a couple of inches more.
          4. Remove the two screws holding the right tray to the rail.
          5. Slide the rail only back into the machine
          6. Slightly lift the right tray and remove it.

If there is paper behind the tray jamming the mech, this could be a symptom for bald tyres.

It could be that the drawer has been opened, when copier is pushing the paper stack to the right.
After this the guide pushing the stack, is stuck in the middle position, the customer is then putting paper in the left drawer, causing major crash, and broken lifting wires and bend side plates. Just had one

Make sure the lever in the lower left corner in the back of tray one isn't deformed. That can prevent the tray from going all the way in.
