    MPC 7500 SC367

    Hi

I have this machine which won't stop doing this function SC 367 or functional problem every now and then but mainly this SC. Changed all the dev units, nothing in the way of the harness, changed the Whole PCU's from a running machine and it still does it.

    Book says:
TD sensor (Vt low) error: Y and done all the checks as the manual has said

I am lost and could really do with some help

    Thanks loads

    Tim

Have you completely cleaned the ITB unit (inside and out)? I have been shown how these beasts run, and this is usually what causes a lot of random SC errors.

Could be a bad toner density sensor on the yellow development unit. Your best bet is to replace the yellow development unit.

The Tier-Database and the Service Manual say to replace the whole PCU. The TD-sensor of a used DV-Unit may have different value. Maybe that's why it's not working. Don't know why you should replace the complete PCU because the TD-sensor is a part of the Development Unit...

            Hi

I have swapped the yellow unit with another, the machine will not do more than 6 colour copies, as many as you want B&W but colour, do 5...fine...do 1 more and then it thrown the code or Functional problem, please restart.

I also swapped the ITB unit with another machine as luckily the customer has two...or un lucky :0)

I am looking at writing this one off as I just cant think. Maybe a board but this has got me.

            Thanks for your replies guys.

              Hi All again

It seems to fluctuate from SC364 to SC 367, any ideas? Is there a main TD control board, feel silly asking that.

              Thanks

I don't work on these machines (lucky for me), but I know from talking to a team mate, that a lot of SC codes when doing colour copies can be resolved simply by doing process control. As I say, I am not talking from experience, so, if I'm talking rubbish (which I normally do) then ignore me

SC 364 is the same as SC 367 except for the Black. Pull all the PCDUs and the ITB unit. Check/clean the machine side connectors for the development units. While you have the ITB unit out, remove the image density sensor assembly and clean the image density sensors.

Also check for toner scattering. See bulletins 013, 017, and 040 for the MPC 7501. Clean and adjust accordingly.

If you want to try just replacing the toner density sensor, look at the old sensor, it should have a part number printed on it that you can order from parts. The new sensor will come with a sticker with the correct settings for that sensor, see bulletin 040.

Thanks for for your help guys. I eventually replaced the devs and individually set up the td for each head as altogether it did not work. Then it was and is fine. Thanks loads.
