    replacing hdd on lanier ld433spf

is firmware needed when hdd is replaced on ld433spf or does hdd need to be from ricoh/lanier. we got a call from an out of state leasing company, they have customer that wants to keep the hdd. but copier has to work and they wanted us to replace hdd. We are a sharp dealer and it appears there are no lanier dealers in NH. any help would be greatly appreciated.

In a case like that, just pop in a 2.5" sata - min. 80Gb (but larger is ok) power it up and it should be good to go. If not, run SP 5832 (format all)
    Nothing special about these Hdd's

You can install any 2.5 sata drive with the same size or higher. Then format all 5832-001 in the sps and then download the stamp data from the controller sp 5853.

You do not need to reload any firmware for a HDD replacement.
