    Error SC421 On Ricoh SC1232c

copying one sheet the paper might make it all the way out of the fuser without error or it will stop just into the fuser or just barely out of the fuser with an error. I am not a Ricoh tech nor do I know anything about them. I do know how to get into service mode. I am versed with canon copiers and wide format printers, and and HP,Kyocera printers, but not Ricoh. Given the symptom do you know what it might be? The belt and rollers in the fuser look new. I am curious about the fuser oil as well. what is the proper level, do you have to manually add fuser oil or is there a bottle on the machine somewhere. Yes I have not seen this model ever before and a person asked me to fix it. I know I should of ran!
    Thanks

Discharge plate error. This model was introduced 11 years ago. It is no longer supported by Ricoh. I would recommend replacing the machine. If you have a number of them that you need to work on until you can trade them out, get a service manual and parts manual.

I have a manual and knew it says discharge plate error and I know its old, so have you ever had this problem and actually fixed it? Sometimes the manuals lead you believe one thing when in fact the problem is solved another way. As usual I usually seem to be the only one with certain problems and have to resolve myself then tell everyone else how I did it. I was hoping for a quick fix this time around so I didn't have to spend anytime on it. If any of you have had any experience with this let me know how you resolved it. Thanks.

Hi, Getting stuck with a 1232 you should be pitied not laughed at!

You need to try to print out the SMC report (SP 5990-04) and read the jam counters. If you cant print, read the counters directly with SP 7504 and that should give you an idea which sensor is unhappy.
