Ricoh MP C2800 front door interlock switch

    Hi all

Cannot seem to find the front door interlock switch in the parts manual. . . . .or the front door!

Can anyone let me know the part numbers for the front door and interlock switch?

    Thanks!

I have a renewed hatred for the 3D parts catalogs. I really haven't had too refer to them too much, so i thought I'd challenge myself.
I must say that the front cover was not difficult to find at all (P/N B224 1251), but looking for that interlock switch or other misc. bits and pieces around the machine is just ridiculous! What was wrong with the old 2D manuals? They were very convenient, logical, and you can literally SEE the parts, and locations of those parts. A lot of times simpler is better! I guess they just made too much sense, so they had to go.
    Rant over.
I think the interlock switch is #18 in the diagram. My apologies if I'm wrong, but I tried, and now my head hurts.

I agree. For the cover, go to exterior and page down one. As for the front safety switches, when I had looked earlier, I thought that was at the back of the unit. Would have made it a lot easier to find if they had ghosted in the frame or actually shown them on the frame pages as they did on older equipment. I will checked the real 3D part catalog instead of the PDF one tomorrow and see how it shows there.

If you mean the the switches with the metal tab with the two long screws that go through them I believe they are 12042709 they are a bitch to find the 3D catalog, i actually just ordered these for a mpc3500 in the 3500 catalog they arent even in the exterior portion they are in the last standard parts page. I had to order a emblem cover for the front of a machine and that was listed in the standard parts to with no picture.

I really really dislike the 3d manuals, using a laptop or tablet in the field limits you from having the software to view them as meant to be, seriously dumb to use for low tech in the field viewing. I wish they would go back to the original parts ones myself, the ones you could look at after you took something apart and forgot where a piece went the exploded parts view was much easier to see where things went.

Just had a email from Ricoh Oz to say they are holding a web seminar to launch the latest 3D parts cattledog viewer, ver 2.3. keep your fingers crossed, but lets face it, anything would be an improvement!

Now by coincidence I was looking for the interlock door switches for a MP C2800 yesterday as well. I found them quite quickly, highlighted "entire copier" in the first column, typed "switch" in to the search box in the second column and Bingo all the switches in the copier appeared in the far right hand column.

The reason I was looking for switches was the copier had logged power-on jams, laser errors and the customer said it wouldn't work unless they lent on the front right hand corner of the machine. What was your problem?

Me, I prefer the old paper manuals, you can scribble in the margin and turn the corner down on favorite pages. And will still work when your lappies batt is flat.
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

If you are getting a lot of jams at power detected and you have a finisher attached, the problem is usually the push button cover switches on the bridge unit. They put out a firmware update for some machines to correct the problem. It helped some, but I have still had to replace the push button eventually.

                Thanks!

The front door was closed but the machine detected it was open!

All resolved now - the front door actuator was bent out of position!

I just wanted to price the interlock switch up as It was a long way to the job and I had one I could take with.
